The year 2014 also marked a new milestone for Nordea’s Asset Management unit which maintained its strong momentum and posted record high net flows of EUR 15bn. Over the past three years, Nordea is the only European asset manager to consistently feature in the annual list of top ten cross-border asset managers in terms of European net flows as published by Morningstar1.
The Institutional and Wholesale Distribution recorded strong net inflows which amounted to almost EUR 8bn. Net flows within the Institutional segment were well diversified among strategies and countries while Wholesale Distribution also witnessed substantial inflows in terms of products with Multi Assets solutions attracting significant client interest. The growth in net new money remains steady across all countries of distribution over the year, with a noticeable development in continental Europe.
“Our success demonstrates that we’re harvesting the benefits of the multi-boutique approach of combining internal strengths with exclusive external competences to deliver alpha to our clients” says Christophe Girondel, Global Head of Institutional and Wholesale Distribution. “We are very pleased to see continued high net flows in our product range and that our outcome solutions are being recognised among the industry as an ideal core investment for clients’ portfolios.”
